What do you want your community to learn?
I design learning experiences rooted in presence, play, and genuine community — for retreat centres, educators, and mission-driven organisations who believe that how people learn matters as much as what they learn.
“Learning is the continuous dynamic play of self-recognition.”
Learning is not something separate from life. It is life — the movement of life recognising itself in all its forms. Everything that lives, thinks, or functions learns by noticing itself through change. In biology, this shows up as adaptation. In education, as reflection and discovery. In Dzogchen, as awareness recognising its own display.
For me, educational design grows from this same principle. The role of design is not to fill people with information, but to create the conditions where recognition can happen naturally — where learners meet experience directly and see themselves in it. Each element — dialogue, reflection, structure, or space — is part of one living process.
Namgyalgar — International Dzogchen Community
A digital home for a global contemplative community
dzogchen.org.auA full rebuild of Namgyalgar’s digital presence — merging two existing sites into one coherent ecosystem serving practitioners across Australia and internationally. The challenge was technical and human in equal measure: honouring the integrity of a Tibetan Buddhist teaching lineage while making it genuinely accessible in a digital space.
- Merged two platforms into a single BuddyPress community ecosystem
- Ethically minded using open source software and sustainable hosting
- Course delivery via Tutor LMS with H5P interactive activities
- Events, registration, and dana payment architecture via Modern Events Calendar + WooCommerce
- Multi-account Zoom integration for live teachings globally
- Community directory, forums, and group-based learning spaces
- Integrated accommodation booking modality

Learning as a living process
I’m not a template designer. I come to each project with 25+ years of teaching experience — in classrooms, sporting clubs, retreat centres, community spaces, and online platforms — and I bring all of that into the design process.
My background spans physical and health education, non-violent communication, Buddhist chaplaincy, martial arts coaching, breathwork and meditation, and formal educational design (Graduate Certificate, Monash University). I hold registered teacher status in Queensland.
What this means in practice: I can move from strategic vision to working platform without losing the original intention. I design, build, and facilitate — and I know from the inside what it feels like to be a learner in the spaces I create.
Listen before designing
Every project begins with understanding the community, the learners, and what genuinely serves their growth — not what looks good on a spec sheet.
Design for recognition
Structure, content, and experience are arranged so learners can meet themselves in the material — not just receive information.
Build with integrity
Hands-on implementation across platforms. I can take a project from concept to working site without losing the original vision to technical compromise.
Sustain and hand over
Communities should be able to grow independently. I document, train, and design for longevity — not dependency.
